Designer Spotlight: Brian Atwood

Brian Atwood is actually an ex-model who designed Versace’s footwear until he started his own brand in 2001. His shoes are primarily statement pieces to me with the studding, PVC cutouts, and jewel incrusting. Hands down they are absolutely gorgeous!

Cosmetic Foundations

Celebrities always have gorgeous skin, and even when they have a breakout their makeup always looks flawless. I believe a strong foundation will be the perfect palate to completing makeup. I have many favorite products that I just can’t help but share.

Smashbox’s photo finish has been a staple in my cosmetic case since I discovered it. It smooths out pores and allows makeup to go on smoother.

Smashbox camera ready full coverage concealer.

Laura Mercier secret camouflage concealer.

Clinique quick corrector. I alternate between the three concealers, it just depends on what I’m needing to cover.

Laura Mercier oil free foundation.

Bare Minerals, this is probably the best foundation I have had. It actually covers my freckles!

Mac Bronzer.

Nars Bronzer.

Nars Orgasm Blush. Best blush possibly ever, it flatters every single skin tone!

Designer Spotlight: Tory Burch

I have always been a fan of the Tory Burch Reva flats, the amount of colors they’re available in astounds me. I recently took the time to explore her website beyond the Reva shop, and fell in love with so many pieces. Tory has an amazingly sophisticated style that can be utilized by all walks of life. Undeniably some pieces are geared more towards the ladies who lunch crowd, but her new denim collection is youthful while still being classy.

Fall/Winter 2010 Trend Watch: Nail Polishes

While I can’t paint my fingernails because of my future profession, I still can’t help from buying various polishes. Luckily pedicures aren’t outlawed for me, so I can indulge a little in the latest nail trends. Fall/Winter 2010 seems to be about the reds, grey colored plums, and sparkles. Some are holograms (seriously)! Which just blows my mind.

It seems as if everywhere I look people are raving about the Chanel Paradoxal color, which is in the top of this post. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous and it makes me anxious for holiday parties. Butter has an ode to the late Alexander McQueen with their All Hail McQueen (a beautiful gold) and Bumster (a dijon yellow). I’m most in love with their purple Marrow color. And OPI took inspiration from the Swiss! Their collection is filled with various reds and blues, with some surprising colors thrown in.

Overall, I love these fall and winter colors, especially the purples and golds. I can’t wait to find some of these colors and try them out sooner rather than later.

Review: Juicy Couture Lock-It Larchmont Leather Shoulder Bag

I got this Lock-It Larchmont Leather Shoulder Bag from Saks.com in late February. I had been eyeing it since before Christmas and it had finally went on sale. I was so excited when I got it, and I immediately started carrying it. Within two weeks the front panel had a place in the leather that was weak enough that if I caught it on anything it would tear a hole. Luckily that hasn’t happened, but the spot is so thin it wouldn’t take much.

Also parts of this bag have begun to turn blue! I’m not certain why this is happening. I took it to a leather repair shop and they thought it was the dye that was used. They also checked the weak spot and told me there was nothing that could be done. While the bottom of the bag is in excellent condition because I always hang my purses, these spots just can’t be explained.

Another problem I’ve had has been with rain. The rain stains the bag if it even gets one drop on it. I didn’t have a jacket to stuff it in one day and so I had to run to my car, these water spots have faded a bit but if you look close they’re still there.

This all being said, I love the interior of the bag! It’s so roomy, and the lovely purple color compliments the neutral beige tone so well. The pockets are handy and the shape is wonderful. Overall I was severely disappointed with this purse, and I know I’m not the only one. A friend has the exact same one and her’s has turned blue worse than mine has.

Caught Red Sole’d

A name that’s synonymous with class and style in my mind is definitely Christian Louboutin. Every single shoe has something special that set’s it apart from many in the large designer shoe market. While I can’t own every shoe in this post, I’m damn well going to try.

Since I got a new bag recently, I feel like I need a new pair of FMP’s (if you don’t know what that is, well…) and soon. I have never owned a pair of Louboutin’s, and I really want to. There are so many chic styles that I can’t quit looking at. From wedges, booties, boots, and pumps I could imagine the outfit I would pair them with. All of the shoes in this post can be purchased at Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, or Neiman Marcus.

Feeling Marc

I have always been a fan of Marc Jacobs, but more recently I’m noticing how much more affordable his products are compared to many on my wish list. Most of these items are less than $500, and that just amazes me. I absolutely can’t wait to purchase some of these bags, shoes, and the ring up top.
